After a fantastic season with an Overall Win in the National XCO Series in the very competitive Under 17 age group, a second place at XCO National Championships and a third place at Oceanias, RATS member Momo Frank was very happy to defend his U17 Marathon National title in Townsville. These awesome results led to him winning the Marathon Nationals for the third time. Despite a less than ideal preparation in the six weeks prior to the Marathon Nationals with illness, lots of studying and a two week holiday, Momo proved to be unbeatable over the very tough 30 kms course thanks to good tactics, a well thought out race plan and pure determination.
Momo is very grateful for the continuous support of the Rats Cycling Club, who once again supported him with a $500 Young Rider Assistance grant, making it a little easier for him to follow his dreams.
The Young Rider Assistance program provides up to $500 per eligible rider per year towards the costs of attending a championship race. It applies to club members in the age categories of U15, U17 or U19 who are competitive at State Championship level or higher.
